Project Description
—–ADOPTED—–
Toby is an absolute sweetheart. He is a little shy when he first meets you, but once he decides you’re ok (which doesn’t take long) he is a devoted, loving companion. He loves nothing more than sitting in your lap and being scratched on the neck. But he does also love to play! He gets along great with his canine foster siblings. He’s smaller than them and does his best to keep up when playing chase and wrestle.
Toby does have a little quirk, and that is the bumps on his head. They are benign (non-cancerous) cysts. The bumps fill with fluid and need to be occasionally drained and prevented from getting infected. It’s an easy thing to take care of, and Toby really hopes that someone will want to take him into their forever home, bumps and all. He is TOTALLY worth it!
I’d like to get more information on Toby. What breed, age and weight is he? Do you know what type of cysts he has on his head and an idea of the cost of having the cysts drained by a vet? I have a rescue Chiweenie I got through Save a Life 2.5 years ago and am considering getting her a companion, but I have restrictions on size of dogs where I live and don’t have unlimited resources for costly vet care.
Toby is a border terrier mix, around 4 years old, and weighs 9 pounds. The vet said that they are sebaceous cysts. They did not give us a quote for removing them. The vet said that because there are several (most small that you can’t see), removal might be more trouble than it’s worth.
